FORENSIC PSYCHOLOGY
Dr Ahona Guha is a forensic and clinical psychologist who provides psychological assessments and expert reports for legal practitioners in Victoria. She has particular expertise in assessing people with complex clinical needs, such as serious mental illness or personality disorders, who have histories of offending behaviour that may harm others.
She has provided reports for the Magistrates’ Court, the County Court and the Adult Parole Board in Victoria, as well as for private organisations such as Safer Communities Teams and universities.

What is forensic psychology?
Forensic psychology sits at the interface between the legal system and the mental health system. Forensic psychologists apply psychological knowledge to legal processes in both criminal and civil jurisdictions. Dr Guha has a detailed working knowledge of the Victorian forensic system.
Reports and assessments
Sentencing and Verdins reports: assessments addressing Verdins and sentencing principles
Risk assessments: using formal forensic risk assessment tools in which she is trained, with management and intervention recommendations
Parole and correctional reports
Victims of crime reports: including VOCAT reports
Privately commissioned forensic reports, including firearms assessments and reports for child protection to assess risk to children.

Scope of services
In private practice, Dr Guha provides forensic assessment and reports. She does not provide forensic treatment or intervention through her private practice. Treatment for people who have engaged in offending behaviour is provided only through her work in forensic mental health settings.
